From the paw prints proudly displayed on the outer brick wall and the “Jone’s Pet Shop” neon sign, one can easily spot Fido, Hillsboro Village’s coziest doghouse. Fido. a sister operation of Bongo Java, delights its patrons with a welcoming atmosphere.
“Whether it’s the building we’re in or just the place itself, it’s the spirit of the place that keeps people coming back,” says Leslie Guimaraes who has worked at Fido for almost two years.
“Even when new people come it just instantly feels like home.”
On its canine themed menu, specialty drinks of note include the Milkbone (two shots espresso, vanilla syrup, honey, steamed milk, whipped cream, and crushed graham crackers), the Hot Dog (brewed coffee, mocha sauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, a splash of steamed milk, and whipped cream), and the Dalmatian (steamed milk with white chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings), all of which run approximately $3.50.
Fido proudly claims to “serve the finest mix of organic, exotic, and junk foods,” a promise supported by its healthier “Veggie Fido” menu options and its array of tempting sweet baked goods. All-day breakfast along with soups, salads and sandwiches completes this Spot’s wide offering of kibble.
