Belmont basketball superstar Darby Maggard will show off her 3-point skills at the State Farm College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships in Minneapolis, as part of the Final Four festivities on Thursday night.
“It’s just exciting to be able to go one last time to represent Belmont,” said Maggard. “My family was pretty excited that I got to do it.”
The reigning Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year broke almost every 3-point record someone could break during her four years at Belmont.
Maggard is currently Belmont’s No.1 all-time career 3-point shooter with 430. She is also No.1 for all-time 3-point field goal percentage at 43.1 percent.
Head coach Bart Brooks is excited that Maggard will get one more chance to wear the Belmont uniform.
“I think she’s consistently one the best 3-point shooters I’ve ever seen, and especially coached,” said Brooks.
Maggard will show off her unbelievable skills behind the arch Thursday night on ESPN at 7 p.m..
