Patti Myint, former owner of International Market and Restaurant, died Saturday, according to social media posts from her family.
“With heavy hearts we would like to share that at 6:11 last night our amazing mother left us peacefully to be in a better place. She was not just our mother, she was everyone’s mother or grandmother or auntie,” her daughter, Anna, wrote in a Facebook post.
Myint opened International Market in 1975, and the restaurant has been well loved by students across Belmont’s campus, and in Nashville, ever since. She opened another student favorite, PM, in 2003.
Myint’s son, Arnold, now owns PM, along with blvd and Suzy Wong’s House of Yum.
The family is working on visitation and funeral arrangements and will share them as soon as they are finalized, according to the Facebook post.
