From Dickson, Tenn., Katie Story is an exercise science major and freshman golfer at Belmont.
Story’s season ended April 22 with the lowest scoring average on the team.
Story’s favorite part of playing golf at Belmont is how close her team has become, she said.
“We’ve gotten really close and we’re more of a family. It’s good to have those girls always there for me.”
Story began golfing when she was six years old, following her father, a teaching professional, around the course.
“It’s in my blood,” she said.
Golfing runs in the family, and Story’s grandfather also golfed his entire life, but died from dementia a few years ago.
Now, Story plays in honor of her grandfather, she said.
Her family is dear to her. And in her spare time, when she’s not enjoying seafood or watching Seinfeld reruns, Story spends as much time as she can with her 3-year-old nephew and 1-year-old niece.
