Meet the New Bruins: Marco Sawaf

For Marco Sawaf, soccer is synonymous with home.

Growing up in Brentwood, Tennessee, he started playing soccer at the age of 4, and is continuing his career 14 years later at Belmont.

“I started playing as an attacker and then moved to defense when I was 13, and I’ve been there ever since.”

Even though he says the game is a lot faster in college, he has enjoyed being a Bruin.

“The game is definitely different now, you’ve got to be more fit,” Sawaf said. “But coming into college with 25 guys to be friends with is great, it makes it a lot easier.”

Sawaf’s hopes for the future are to help win some important games for the Bruins.

He wears No. 27, and can be seen with the rest of the team playing Oakland Oct. 21 at E.S. Rose Park.
