Streets closed Saturday for Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon

Streets around Belmont’s campus will be closed Saturday morning for the St. Jude Rock ‘N’ Roll Nashville Marathon and Half Marathon, and people will not be able to enter or leave campus by car.

No parking will be allowed on the closed streets starting at 10 p.m. Friday, and the streets will close completely at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, according to an email from Belmont’s Office of Communications.

Streets around Belmont will reopen between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.. For a full list of road closures and reopening times, clickhere.

Pedestrians and bicyclists will be able to cross the closed streets at most points, but that may be limited at peak times during the race, according to the email.

Students who need to leave campus Saturday morning should park their vehicles outside of the perimeter of the race on Friday night. People can also expect heavier traffic and increased travel time.

During the race, Belmont will host a marathon celebration on Belmont Boulevard. Students and faculty are invited to cheer on the runners with pom poms and signs. Belmont will also be offering coffee and doughnut holes for those who attend the event.
