VIDEO: Dearly Brothers’ song makes Letterman movie

In eight months, the folk-rock sound of Dearly Brothers has gone from their lead singer’s living room to the big screen.

The band, consisting of Vian Zaayman, Drake Morey, Joey Kenkel, Trevor Nikrant, Chris Worley and Phil Englehart, were formed early this year by Zaayman based on how the six guys could mesh musically and personally. Now, the band’s music will be featured in “We Made This Movie,” a film made by David Letterman’s production company that will premiere online Thursday.

The group’s “Starlit Summer’s Eve,” recorded at the Bell Tower earlier this year, was also featured on Coldplay as its “Favorite Indie Song of the Week” on its website.

The six, who said they are influenced by the likes of Mumford and Sons are now working on recording some of their songs with a local label. Their “Us Against the Rain” EP is available on their website.

Dearly Brothers’ next performance is at High Watt on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
