    How BU would deal with an active shooter

    Belmont’s Campus Security would coordinate with Metro dispatch and use alerts and staff training in the scenario of an active shooter on campus. Last night, a gunman opened fire on students in the Florida State University library, injuring three people before he was killed by police.     UPDATE: Shooting leads to two wrecks near campus

    Exchanged gunshots at the corner of 14th and Wedgewood avenues led to two wrecks near Belmont’s campus Thursday afternoon. In a campus-wide email, the university said there is no threat to campus security from the incident. People in two cars exchanged gunshots by the stop sign on 14th and Wedgewood avenues, said Metro Nashville Police Sergeant James Warren. When one vehicle tried to drive away from the scene, Warren said it hit another car and caused a wreck on 14th Avenue.
