Belmont lawn closes for two weeks on Monday

Belmont students won’t be able to go on the main lawn for two weeks starting Monday.

They’ve been reseeding the lawns for the past couple of weeks, and have to give the grass some more time to grow before it can withstand foot traffic, said Steve Lasley, Belmont’s vice president of finance and operations.

“Without reseeding, the lawns will not regenerate new growth which will result in bare spots and thin, unsightly turf,” Lasley said. “I wanted to make sure the entire Belmont community is aware of what we are trying to achieve and the impact it will have.”

All other lawns on campus will stay open during the two-week period. – –
