Belmont senior DeEbony Groves killed in Sunday morning Waffle House shooting

Metro Police have identified Belmont senior DeEbony Groves as one of the victims killed in Sunday morning’s Antioch Waffle House shooting.

Groves was a senior social work major at Belmont and a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

“Like you, I am shocked and devastated by how such senseless violence has taken the life of this young woman, an individual full of immense potential,” said Belmont President Dr. Robert Fisher.

Belmont will be holding a time of prayer for Groves’ family during Monday’s 10 a.m. chapel service and encouraged students who need support to visit the Office of Counseling Services.

The Vision staff will be collecting tributes from students, faculty and friends for later publication. If you’d like to contribute, please send tributes to belmontvisionnews@gmail.com
