Belmont student Abbie Little dies Thursday

Belmont sophomore Abbie Little died Thursday.

Little, 19, was an international business major and Brentwood, Tennessee native, according to an email sent to students and faculty by Belmont President Dr. Robert Fisher Tuesday morning.

Little was not enrolled at Belmont for the fall semester, but was still involved in Belmont’s Phi Mu Theta chapter, according to the email.

A visitation will be held Tuesday night from 5 to 8 p.m. at Forest Hills Baptist Church, and again on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon. A service will then be held at noon on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, Little’s family is encouraging people to donate to Young Life of Williamson County and Youth Encouragement Services, according to Little’s obituary.

Fisher reminded students and faculty that Belmont has resources available for those who need support, including Counseling Services and University Ministries pastoral care. Faculty and staff can also access a confidential employee assistance program.

“I hope you’ll join me in keeping Abbie’s family and friends in our thoughts and prayers,” Fisher said.
