Belmont will host the Country Music Association Country Christmas in the Curb Event Center, according to an email sent to students and faculty Friday.
The event will be recorded in the Curb Event Center on Sept. 27, and it will air on ABC in the winter.
“CMA approached Belmont about this possibility a few months ago, and we are excited that the details worked out so that this event can be hosted on campus,” said April Hefner, Belmont’s editorial and news content director.
This is the ninth annual CMA Country Christmas, and it will be hosted by Reba McEntire. The event will feature performances from Tony Bennett, Dan + Shay, Brett Eldredge, Amy Grant and other artists.
Belmont students will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the event and receive $54 price. Tickets will go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. on the CMA Country Christmas website.
“With all hosted events, we seek to find ways to benefit our students, and we were excited that we were able to negotiate a ticket discount for the Belmont community,” Hefner said.
Students may also be able to volunteer at the event, she said.
