BREAKING: Destinee Wells will play for Tennessee next season


The newest Tennessee Lady Vol. Landen Secrest/Belmont Vision

It didn’t take long for Destinee Wells to decide where she will be playing next year.

The 5’6 point guard has chosen to take her talents to Knoxville, Tennessee to play for the University of Tennessee Lady Vols.

This decision comes after Wells announced she would be moving on from Belmont on Saturday.

Wells averaged 19.5 points per game this season for the Bruins.

She totaled 1,648 points over the span of her highly decorated Belmont career.

Wells and Tennessee crossed paths in the 2022 NCAA Tournament when Belmont traveled to Knoxville to face the Lady Vols.

In that game, Wells led the Bruins in scoring with 22 points as they narrowly lost 70-67.

Now she’s ready to showcase her skills inside on The Summit inside Thompson-Boling Arena.

Wells will now suit up in orange and white for a talented team that finished third in the Southeastern Conference behind two Final Four teams.
