After parts of Lipscomb University, including its bison statue, were vandalized in Belmont colors Thursday night, Belmont’s Office of Campus Security is looking for information about whether Belmont students were involved.
According to an email from Director of Student Conduct Neil Jamerson, expletives were spray painted onto the iconic Lipscomb statue with Belmont initials and colors sometime before Friday morning. While there is nothing linking Belmont students to the incident, Jamerson encouraged anyone with information about the incident to report it to the Office of Campus Security.
The vandalism follow an incident with water balloons earlier this week. A similar incident also happened last year, Jamerson said.
Jamerson’s email was sent less than an hour before the schools’ men’s basketball teams tipped off in the first Battle of the Boulevard game of the season.
