CMA Country Christmas affects parking, access to Curb Event Center

As Belmont prepares to host the Country Music Association Country Christmas event taping on Thursday, students, faculty and staff should be prepared for modified parking and closures in the Curb Event Center throughout the week.

“The CMA production team has worked closely with Belmont staff to minimize the impact of this show on the broader campus,” according to an email from Belmont’s Office of Communications.

Parking may be limited in the Curb and Johnson garages because of CMA production staff coming to campus all week. Overflow parking will be available for faculty, staff and commuters in the Dickens and Thrailkill garages and the Troutt Theater parking lot.

Belmont is also suggesting that faculty, staff and commuters arrange for other methods of transportation on Wednesday and Thursday  — such as carpooling, mass transit or rideshare apps — according to the email.

On Thursday — the day of the event — the Curb Garage will close to new arrivals at 1 p.m., and all students, faculty and staff will need to move their vehicles from the garage by 4:30 p.m..

Though the Beaman Student Life Center and the Fitness and Recreation Center will stay open all week, individuals may be subject to a security check upon entering on Thursday.

The Maddox Grand Atrium will be closed on Thursday, and the Curb Event Center will be closed all week.
