Commercial Music Showcase: Mignon Grabois

Mignon Grabois has performed at Tin Pan South, CMA Fest and with Brad Paisley at the CMA Awards and you can see her at Belmont’s Commercial Music Showcase on Monday, Feb. 1.

As someone who’s been “singing since she was born” and professionally since she was 12 years old, it was natural for the country/pop singer to choose to be a commercial voice major.

“I wanted my college experience to be very influential on my everyday life outside of school, which is still singing. My emphasis is songwriting with the Curb College, which is also great because I’m co-writing at least four times a week,” Grabois said.

Some of her biggest music influences include Faith Hill, Taylor Swift, Martina McBride, Adele, Maren Morris, Andrew Ripp and Sara Bareilles. If she could choose anyone to collaborate with, she would choose Chris Stapleton.

Grabois does not want to stop performing but also plans to make her music heard through songwriting now and after she graduates in May.

“My main goal is to reach millions of people with my own songs,” she said. “Songwriting is such a big part of my life and whether that means getting a cut on another artist’s album or singing them myself, I just want people to hear my songs.”
