From Belmont to … Ghana

After spending 8 weeks volunteering in a small village in Ghana, 2010 Belmont grad Abby Selden returns to tell her travel stories during a convo at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15 in Beaman A&B. Selden was the first recipient of the Lumos Student Travel Award, a scholarship that allows a Belmont student to complete a volunteer project for at least 6 weeks in another country. The recipient is expected to “travel with a purpose” by learning news skills while sharing his or her own. For more information on how to apply, visit the website at http://blogs.belmont.edu/lumos/ or stop by the Office of International Education located on the second floor of Gabhart. Or stop by the “Bucket Showers and Holy Crocodile” convo next Wednesday to hear about the process Selden went through to win the travel scholarship. – Jessica Wardwell
