Meghan Hickok and Kristin Callahan win SGA presidential election

Meghan Hickok and Kristin Callahan have won the 2019 Student Government Association presidential election.

They will serve as president and vice president until the end of 2019 —a shift from the old SGA election cycle which had terms starting in April.

Hickok and Callahan ran with a platform of improving parking, raising student awareness about resources around campus and creating more social spaces at Belmont.

“Our promise is to facilitate tangible change to make differences that students want to see and to prioritize outreach to the student body to ensure that the voices of students are heard,” said Hickok and Callahan in a statement.

Hickok and Callahan, along with newly elected senators, will be inaugurated at an event on Feb. 25.

“This would not have been possible without the support we have received from our Belmont community. We look forward to a year of transformative improvements for Belmont students,” they said in the statement.
