The Belmont men’s basketball team took down Morehead State without issues, defeating the Eagles 77-60 on Thursday night.

Freshman Caleb Hollander ended his two game slump, scoring 22 points in the Bruins’ victory. Hollander only scored 2 points in each of the last two games.

Morehead State didn’t show much life, as the Eagles only shot 33 percent of their field goals. The Bruins led most of the game and shot 55 percent from the field and 31 percent from the arch.

The Eagles’ defense in the beginning of the second half was promising, but it couldn’t hold off Hollander and freshman Nick Muszynski for long.

Muszynski was nothing short of stellar, as he scored 20 points and got nine rebounds.

Senior Dylan Windler put up 12 points, and his defense proved to be important in the Bruins’ second conference win in a row.

The Bruins improved their record to 2-1 in the conference and 11-3 overall.

Belmont will look to win its third straight game as it faces superstar Nick Mayo and Eastern Kentucky on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Curb Event Center.
