Belmont’s Sigma Chi fraternity partnered with Big Fluffy Dog Playhouse, bringing dogs and puppies to the bell tower patio.

The event took place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. as part of Derby Days, the week-long philanthropic event hosted by Sigma Chi every year.

“Just being able to see dogs on a Monday morning before you go to class is literally so much fun. There were so many people, and it was just a fun bonding activity,” said junior and member of the Alpha Gam sorority Ava Watkins.

Dozens of students gathered at the bell tower patio to spend time with and walk the dogs brought to campus by Big Fluffy Dog Rescue.

“It kind of makes you forget about the mental stress that we’re all under. You get to have a

5-10-minute break,” said Watkins.
