A late goal from junior Megan Michela pushed the Belmont women’s soccer team past Austin Peay at E.S. Rose Park Sunday afternoon, giving the Bruins the 3-2 win and its first conference win of the season.
The Bruins outshot the Governors 14 to nine, with two goals in the first half from Emily Whitcomb and Sydney Cason giving the team the necessary momentum to close out the Governors late in the game.
The Bruins will continue conference play with a match against Eastern Illinois on Friday, Sept. 22 at E.S. Rose Park.
