The PinPoint Evangelist ministry parked itself outside of the Curb Cafe Thursday afternoon. Spreading messages of hell and brimstone to passer-bys, the protest sparked quite the controversy in the Belmont community.
“I don’t think what they’re spreading is the true message of Christianity. Everyone has the freedom of speech but to me this isn’t just normal speech, this is hate speech. And it’s there where I lose my respect for them and their right to protest,” said sophomore Sam Gutshall.
PinPoint ministries also visited Belmont in February of 2012.
The protesters plan to be at Belmont for the remainder of the day and plan to protest later Thursday evening at the Taylor Swift concert in Bridgestone Arena.
