Former Secretary of State Colin Powell will speak at Belmont May 30 as part of a Nashville Public Library lecture series.
Powell served as U.S. Secretary of State under President George W. Bush. He was also the first African-American to serve in that position or as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest military post in country. He will release a new book called “It Worked for Me: In Life and Leadership” on May 22.
Tickets will be free for the event, which will happen at MPAC on Wed. May 30 at 7 p.m. More information on the event, including when tickets will be available, will be announced by the library at a later date, according to the their web site.
