A van carrying three Belmont students and one staff member was fired at by a “young black man” wearing a white T-shirt with “shoulder-length dreadlocks” at around 8:30 Tuesday night, according to a release from Metro Nashville Police.
“They reported that a white Dodge Charger approached them at a high rate of speed from the rear. They heard a bang, and the rear window of the Expedition shattered,” the release stated. “The victims/witnesses reported seeing the passenger of the Dodge Charger with a pistol leaning out of the window.”
There is a continuing investigation being led by Metro Nashville Police Department’s Midtown Hills Precinct. The suspect’s motive has not been determined.
