Vance Joy returned to Nashville Tuesday night to play a sold out Cannery Ballroom show, as part of his “Lay It On Me Tour.” Joy, touring in support of his new single, gave a breathtaking performance, which featured older hits and three new songs from his upcoming album. Joy’s openers, Chappell Roan and Amy Shark, started off the night with some soulful, infectious indie-pop. Roan, an up-and-coming artist from Springfield, Missouri, performed songs from her 2017 soulful, indie-pop single, “School Nights.” Shark — who hails from Joy’s native Australia — dove into performances from her latest EP, “Night Thinker,” and more. It was a night full of music that the Cannery crowd won’t soon forget.
