VIDEO: Bruin Blitz March 4-17

While students were away on Spring Break, the Bruins were working hard and making national news. Men’s basketball is going dancing for the 7th time in ten years, while the baseball team started it’s conference season with a bang. Men’s and women’s golf is in full swing, and the tennis teams continue to compete. Belmont softball faced tough competition, while track didn’t have to go far for a competitive meet.

Not included in Episode: Because we don’t shoot on the day we post, sometimes we miss a few athletic events. Below is a recap of what didn’t make it in Episode 13 of Bruin Blitz.

Women’s Golf  Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at the Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn.

The team won first place at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate held Monday and Tuesday in Sevierville, Tenn. thanks to three top-five individual finishes.

The win marks the second team title this season and is the second time in program history that the team has won two tournaments in one season. The last time they did it was the 2006-07 season.

The Bruins were lead by freshman Katie Story who finished second after losing a playoff to Kayla Katterhenry of Evansville. Sophomore Megan Heath earned fourth and senior Sydney Hudson finished in a tie for fifth place.

Softball Doubleheader at Memphis

The team dropped two decisions to Memphis on Tuesday.

The first game proved much closer with a slim 8-6 final score; however, the Bruins let the second game slip away as they lost, 9-1.

Baseball vs. MTSU

After a slow start, the Bruins managed to get on base with only four total hits to push past Middle Tennessee 8-2 on Tuesday at  E. S. Rose Park.

Belmont scored five runs in the last two innings.
