Belmont’s We Believe campaign has raised more than $200 million toward its $300 million goal.
The campaign, which is the university’s largest fundraising effort ever, launched almost three years ago, trying to raise $300 million in endowment by 2020.
It’s focused on five areas that go along with the university’s Vision 2020 priorities — endowed scholarships, faculty support, missions, athletics and annual giving — according to the campaign website.
“This campaign is strengthening our ability to empower our students with an education that will transform lives and enable them to lead lives of purpose,” said university President Dr. Robert Fisher in an email to faculty.
The university is matching every donation between $25,000 and $1.5 million, according to the campaign website.
“The challenge Belmont must accept is to ensure we are prepared to offer and sustain what our students deserve and expect from our institution—world-class facilities, innovation and entrepreneurial thinking, meaningful scholarship support, the best faculty, dynamic and relevant programs and an environment that fosters creative thought in an undeniably Christian environment,” according to the campaign website.
