A 62-year-old man was arrested at the Lila D. Bunch Library early Tuesday morning after allegedly being caught with a thermos of vodka in a closed part of the facility.

Phillip Cunningham was charged with public intoxication and criminal trespassing, and pleaded guilty to both charges in Metro Nashville General Sessions Court Wednesday.

According to the police affidavit, Cunningham was allegedly found in the library after staff closed parts of the facility after 10 p.m. Monday night. Belmont security suspected he hid in the area after it closed, as they said there was no sign of forced entry or other criminal activity.

When found, Cunningham allegedly had alcohol on his breath and admitted to drinking. A thermos of vodka was found beside him.
