Belmont Women’s Basketball has added its first transfer for the 2025-2026 season.
Junior guard and Tennessee native Avery Strickland announced that she is committing to playing for the Bruins next season, according to her Instagram post Sunday afternoon.
She’s transferring to Belmont after two years at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Last season with the Lady Volunteers she averaged 1.9 points and 1.3 rebounds.
Strickland started her career at the University of Pittsburgh before transferring after one season.
Strickland will look to fill in for a Belmont team that is losing key starters to graduation, including Tuti Jones, Kendal Cheesman and Kendall Holmes among others.
