Dr. Jane Duncan named new associate dean of College of Visual and Performing Arts

Belmont announced on Wednesday that Dr. Jane Duncan will be the new associate dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

This is a new position on campus, and she will begin on July 1.

“She brings a perfect mix of academics, teaching, and arts experiences to our campus,”

Stephen Eaves, the dean of CVPA, said in an email to teachers.

Duncan earned her doctorate in theatre studies at Florida State University, a Master of Fine Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a bachelor’s degree in theatre from the University of Dayton.

Most recently, Duncan taught theatre at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While teaching, she also served as the executive director of assessment and accreditation. She has also taught at the University of Central Arkansas and Barry University.

Her responsibilities at Belmont will consist of both leadership and teaching. She will be assisting with academic planning, accreditation, assessment and curriculum development.
