Grounds for Celebration: It Must Be Wednesday Returns

A recurring Belmont favorite began today with the first It Must Be Wednesday of the 2026-2027 school year.
It Must Be Wednesday gives freshmen to graduate students a chance to mingle with each other, with student organizations, and Nashville local businesses.
“I love the free coffee, but I just like to meet like all the vendors,” said Belmont senior Suzanna Porter. She said she uses the event to expand her network by getting “to know not only like people who are doing good stuff around Belmont, but also people that are helping the general Nashville community and how we can be a part of that.”
For many students, It Must Be Wednesday is about connection and community; senior Christine Pattillo took it a step further, talking about her hopes for future events.
“I am super big on advocacy, so I would love to see nonprofit organizations, people who are doing advocacy for things in Nashville, and just see that work being done on campus as well.”
For Yazmin Giron, the event made her feel part of something larger than herself.
“It's awesome how they're trying to feel, like, really welcoming and community type, and I just love it because that's really why I came here to Belmont.”
The event will continue to be held every Wednesday, 9:30-11:00 a.m., until Fall Break, welcoming students with free coffee and connections here on campus.
