Freshman Ben Kocher has been playing organized baseball since he was 3 or 4 years old. “My dad and mom are big baseball fans and so I always had a bat or a ball in my hand since I was really young,” said Kocher.
Kocher is from Zionsville, Ind. and liked the idea of going south to play collegiate baseball.
“I visited here and it just felt right,” said Kocher. “The school was really nice. The coaching staff is great and I just kind of fell in love with Nashville.”
Kocher is an infielder for Belmont’s baseball team and wears number 3.
When Kocher isn’t playing baseball or working toward his accounting major, he enjoys playing video games and watching Netflix.
His favorite thing to do, though, is spend time with his older brother, who has special needs.
“He’s one of my biggest inspirations,” said Kocher.
