Meet the New Bruin: Eli Crognale

Belmont University’s soccer midfielder, Eli Crognale from Ohio, has been playing soccer for 14 years and does not plan on stopping anytime soon.

“It’s taught me how to rely on people and not to be individual or selfish,” said Crognale.

His biggest accomplishment yet is earning a spot on Belmont’s Division I soccer team, like his two older brothers who have already played collegiate level soccer.

“They teach me a lot about what I have got to do,” said Crognale.

He also uses his current favorite soccer player, Paul Pogba of Manchester United, as someone to look up to. He has started to set goals for the future.

“My personal goal would be to make it on the All-Freshmen Team Conference,” said Crognale.

Crognale and the rest of his teammates still have a season ahead to prove those who have doubted, wrong.

Louisville will be a good test for the Bruins this season as they are a team that has always been ranked in the top 20 of the country, said Crognale.

A very different Belmont soccer team can be expected this season.

“Expect a whole new team. We’re not going to be the same Belmont soccer that has been in the past,” said Crognale.

Make sure to support No.20 and his teammates this season.
