Meet the new Bruin: Emily Whitcomb

Freshman and holding midfielder Emily Whitcomb sports a No. 11 jersey on the women’s soccer team.

Although the Chicago native is new to Belmont’s soccer team, she is not new to playing soccer.

“I started playing when I was 6 years old,” said Whitcomb.

One of the reasons she chose to attend Belmont was because of her love for Nashville.

“I’m from the city; so, Nashville is like a mini city,” said Whitcomb. “I love the fact that it’s five minutes from campus, and it’s so different than a typical city.”

When Whitcomb is not busy with soccer, she likes to travel, read books, and watch her favorite show “Friends.”

Whitcomb loves every aspect of soccer, and she “can’t imagine not playing it.”
