Meet the new Bruin: Luke Kissick

Belmont freshman Luke Kissick– who competets in sprints and the long jump– is a dual threat for the track and field team.

“I started track in fifth grade and I was always kind of fast,” said Kissick. “For jumping, my coaches just put me in there one day and I did pretty well in it.”

Kissick is from Dallas, which he describes as a place where high school sports dominate the lives of young athletes.

He decided to come to Belmont because of the coaches and team atmosphere.

“I really like all the coaches and all the guys on the team,” said Kissick. “Also, the chance to live in Nashville was awesome.”

When he has free time, Kissick enjoys hanging out with friends, catching up with his family and playing other sports outside.

Kissick can be seen competing for Belmont in the long jump and sprints at track and field events.
