Freshman soccer player Thailer Usonis, also known as Ty, began playing the game when he was 4 years old.
“I knew before college that I wanted to play collegiately, I just didn’t know it was going to be Belmont,” said Usonis.
The attacking midfielder said the camaraderie from the Belmont community was something he was initially impressed by.
“When I came to visit, everything felt so comfortable and I really enjoyed what the coaches wanted for us in the future.”
Ty said his friends and family are his main support system, whether it’s watching the games online, sending encouraging text messages or calling before a game.
“They push me to keep going and to try my best every day,” said Usonis.
