Music Row Promo hosted its second live lounge performance Tuesday at Belmont’s 38 Music Square E. building in collaboration with Belmont's Women in Audio Club.

“We like to say Music Row Promo is the bridge between Belmont and the music industry…we do a bunch of events, but mainly we focus on helping our Belmont students connect to each other and also to professionals who have experience,” said Allie Turchi, vice president of marketing for Music Row Promo.

The club is a Belmont student-led organization that caters to both established artists and newer talent at Belmont who want to market themselves and their music by hosting a variety of different events on and off-campus, including live lounges like this one.

The event was set up in a writers round style, with two rounds of artists. The first round consisted of Kikko Mai, Carrie Brockwell, Izzy Rose and Shelby McHugh who each performed three songs. The second round consisted of Kristen Noble, Elisheva McAleny and Rocky Leroe who sang two songs each.

“I love writers’ rounds because I think there should be more events on campus for singer- songwriters to perform and share their stories,” Mckenna Blake, vice president of events for Music Row Promo said.

A lot of the singer-songwriters who performed are fairly well known on campus, such as Laroe, who recently performed in Belmont’s Rock Showcase.

“It's so cool to play in front of all my classmates, especially on Music Row, it’s an opportunity I don’t take for granted,” Laroe said.

At the end of the event, Angelina Turner, co-president of Music Row Promo welcomed a guest artist to the stage, Diana Silvers.

Silvers, a Los Angeles-based actress and singer-songwriter, made time to visit the live lounge to give Belmont students a taste of her music despite currently touring with John Batiste.

Silvers performed three of her songs before expressing her gratitude to be performing in front of a small, mainly female audience.

“It’s so special to be in a room full of so many powerful young women and hearing their voices. It really means a lot, because I’m writing for them,” Silvers said.

After her performance, the event closed with a brief discussion time with Silvers where students had the chance to connect and ask further questions.
