To celebrate the first week of classes, the Student Activities Programming Board hosted a 1980s themed throwback prom on Friday, filled with video games, food, music and photo booths.
Much of the outfit inspiration was from ‘80s movies. Others went for a more typical prom theme.
“Everybody looks amazing. Everyone went full out,” said freshman Natalie Higgins.
The main event of the night was a Just Dance battle. The first round consisted of four students dancing to “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter. The second was another group of four students, this time dancing to “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus.
To end the night, the winners of the two battles danced to “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion. In the end, both were crowned winners.
This annual tradition brought together hundreds of students for fun and dancing. Students are already looking forward to it next year.
“I’ve had so much fun. I feel like I’m in the 80s, it’s bodacious in here,” said freshman Maggie Dexter.
