The women’s basketball team defeated Tennessee State, 87-71, maintaining its undefeated season in the Ohio Valley Conference. The team also maintained its 18-game winning streak.
Sophomore Darby Maggard led the team with 20 points and two rebounds, followed by junior Kylee Smith with 18 points. Tennessee State’s I’mani Davis led her team with 18 points.
The men’s basketball team also defeated Tennessee State, 68-63, and finished off the season with a 16-1 record at home.
Senior Evan Bradds led the team with 22 points and seven rebounds, followed by junior Amanze Egekeze with 15 points. Tennessee State’s Wayne Martin led his team with 20 points.
These were the last games of the regular season. Women’s basketball will start conference championship play at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium on March 1 against Southeast Missouri with tip-off at 1 p.m.
Men’s basketball will start conference championship play at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium on March 3.
