Softball Secures First Ever NCAA Tournament Bid

For the first time in program history, Belmont Softball will compete in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship.

The Bruins took down Southern Illinois in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Sunday, securing their spot in the tournament.

With the help of six all-conference honors players, three home runs and MVC pitcher of the year Maya Johnson, the Bruins were able to secure a 6-2 victory against the Salukis.

With 40 wins this season, The Bruins earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Bruins are scheduled to face Virginia Tech on Friday to open the tournament.
