President Donald Trump has nominated Belmont University Board of Trustees member Lee Beaman to serve on the Tennessee Valley Authority Board of Directors.
Beaman is not shy of the political scene, supporting prominent republican candidates with donations totaling over $3.6 million, including $23,800 to Trump.
Beaman also owns a property in Washington D.C. where the current speaker of the house lives and other political influences operate from, previously reported by the Belmont Vision.
TVA is the nation's largest public power provider, primarily serving Tennessee and six neighboring states. It also oversees rivers and dam systems and manages a vast network of power plants.
In his position at the TVA, Beaman will most likely facilitate the direction of policies and functional procedures.
If the Senate approves, Beaman will serve a term until May 18, 2030.
