Baseball at Vanderbilt on Tuesday, April 14
A solo home run in the eighth inning from senior Matt Beaty lifted the Belmont baseball team to a 3-2 win over defending national champion Vanderbilt at Hawkins Field Tuesday night.
The No. 7 Commodores were the highest ranked opponent any Belmont team has beaten since the university went Division I in 1996-97.
Men’s Golf TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate at Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tenn. on Monday and Tuesday
Junior Ashton Van Horne claimed his third individual title of the season as the men’s golf team earned second overall at the Big Blue Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee State.
On Monday, Van Horne shot record-setting identical rounds of 65 which was five shots ahead of the second place golfer.
The team led after day one with a team score of 554, 11 shots ahead of then second place Tennessee Tech.
