Webb accepts position at Ohio

Belmont volleyball head coach Deane Webb has resigned at Belmont University to accept the same position at Ohio University, announced in a statement from Belmont Athletics on Thursday.

“We thank Deane for his leadership and stewardship of our volleyball program,” Belmont University Director of Athletics Mike Strickland said. “We wish Deane and his family all the best moving forward.”

In  11 seasons at Belmont, Webb compiled a record of 207-138 and led the Bruins to three conference championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances (2006, 2008, 2012).

In 2012, the Bruins won the program’s first Ohio Valley Conference championship in its inaugural season.

Webb coached three American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-South Region players – Colleen Nilson (2007), Kayla Albritton (2010) and Maggie Johnson (2011). Allison McCoy was also named 2013 OVC Player of the Year. The Bruins also received the AVCA Team Academic Award eight times during Webb’s tenure.

A national search for Webb’s successor will begin immediately.
