BREAKING: Drew Scharnowski to Enter Transfer Portal

First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference player Drew Scharnowski has decided to enter the transfer portal, according to a post from his social media.
“To Belmont University, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of such a special program. I want to thank coach Alexander and his staff for believing in a kid from Burlington and for the time and energy they poured into my development,” Scharnowski said in the post, “I’m forever proud of what our group accomplished in Nashville: 48 wins in two years and an MVC regular season championship.”
In his first season with Bruins, the forward only started two games but played in 25.This season saw an outstanding improvement from Scharnowski.
The 6-foot-9-inch redshirt sophomore led the team in rebounds and recorded four double-doubles. He also recorded a team-high of 39 blocked shots.
It is uncertain where he will go, although there is speculation of him following head coach Casey Alexander to Kansas State.
He is the second men's basketball player planning to enter the transfer portal, following Tyler Lundblade's announcement Monday.
The transfer portal officially opens April 7.
