Bruins No. 25 on Playboy’s Tip-Off 2012 list

After two close losses to Top 10 teams, it seems the Belmont Bruins men’s basketball team has been recognized with a spot in a top 25 poll.

In “Playboy,” that is.

The rankings, according to a press release sent to the Vision, put the Bruins at No. 25 on the Tip-Off 2012 poll, published in the December issue of the magazine. The infamous magazine put Belmont just below Washington, BYU, and Michigan, in ascending order. No. 1 on the list is North Carolina, the projected winner of the national title in March, according to Tip-Off.

After a 77-76 loss to Duke, the Bruins have received a program-high 21 votes in this week’s AP poll. Belmont also lost 97-81 Tuesday afternoon to the Memphis Tigers, ranked 10th this week in AP’s Top 25 and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.

The Bruins are back on the court at 2:30 p.m. Saturday when they take on Towson in the EA Sports Maui Invitational Regional Games. The game is at MTSU’s Murphy Center.
