Meet the new Bruin: Baylee Cook

Belmont freshman Baylee Cook, from Lewisburg, Tennessee, says her softball career began at the age of 5.

“I started in a rec league and worked my way up from there,” said Cook.

While softball takes up a majority of time, Cook wants to become a neonatal nurse.

“I chose Belmont for the education mainly. They were the only school that was going to let me do nursing,” said Cook.

When not in class, Cook enjoys being with her teammates who she said are like her sisters.

“If it wasn’t for them, I could not make it through everything. Balancing school and sports can be stressful, but they definitely help,” said Cook.

As far as managing school and softball, Cook believes that having her friends and family close has helped her the most in college.

Cook can be seen wearing No. 2 for the Bruins this season.
