Freshman volleyball player Maggie Mullins isn’t far from her family geographically, but they are on opposite ends of Belmont boulevard.
The Nashville native’s sister attends Lipscomb.
“We do get a couple of jokes like, ‘why aren’t you in purple and gold?’” she said.
But it’s not very serious, said Mullins.
“She has no hard feelings. She’s going to support me no matter what.”
The middle hitter receives a lot of support from her four sisters and a big part of her decision to stay close to home was because of her family.
“We’ve been all over the place. And my senior year we all kind of got back into Nashville, and I didn’t want to leave,” said Mullins.
The newcomer hopes to study nursing, and when she’s not studying or training, she considers herself a “doodler.”
Look out for Mullins on the court this season sporting the No. 4 jersey.
