Belmont freshman Megan Michela grew up in a family of soccer players and now hopes to continue that family history into college.
“My grandfather played soccer, which made my dad play soccer, which made my whole family play soccer,” said Michela.
Michela grew up in Carol Stream, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. While in high school, she played for the Sockers FC Chicago club team and played in the Elite Clubs National League playoffs two years in a row.
Michela became interested in Belmont due to the campus atmosphere and the women’s soccer program.
“I love the campus, and I love the coaching staff,” said Michela. “The girls are awesome.”
When she has free time, Michela enjoys hanging out with friends, eating and sleeping.
Michela can be seen playing forward for the Bruins in home games at Rose Park. Catch Michela and the rest of the women’s soccer team Friday against Murray State.
