A wave of fans dressed in purple lace, jerseys and cheetah print filed into Bridgestone Arena on Thursday to witness Tate McRae’s fiery “Miss Possessive Tour.”
McRae’s tour, which kicked off in August, follows the release of her third studio album, “So Close To What.”
Opener Zara Larsson held her own, performing a blend of her old hits such as “Never Forgot You,” while promoting her upcoming album with her single “Midnight Sun.”
“I named my new album after this song, and it's about a Swedish summer’s night where the sun never goes down and I want to take you to that Midnight Sun,” said Larsson.
Larsson’s spirited choreography and crisp vocals gradually engaged the audience until she had the stadium on their feet for her final hit song, “Symphony.”
One hour after Larsson left the stage, the arena lights dimmed, the music rose and fans' excitement spread throughout the stadium.
Set on an industrial backdrop, clips of McRae flashed across the screen while dancers set the stage before the singer emerged, performing the tours’ namesake song, “Miss Possessive."
Remaining at the front of the stage, McRae entertained the crowd with vigorous choreography alongside her 2000s pop inspired songs “No I’m not in love,” “2 hands” and “guilty conscience” before exiting offstage.
She returned in a rhinestone-studded top to perform more of her high energy songs including “Purple lace bra,” “Uh oh” and “Siren Sounds,” while incorporating stage props such as chairs and a pole to accentuate her choreography.
After another brief transition, McRae emerged on a smaller elevated stage at the back of the stadium to perform her more vulnerable songs “Greenlight” and “Nostalgia,” while the arena around her twinkled with fans' flashlights.
McRae then took the piano, calling out her original fans while performing segments of some of her oldest hits, “that way,” “rubberband,” “feel like s—” and “you broke me first.”
“If anyone remembers, I used to post videos of me singing on my old YouTube channel, so let's see if you know any of those songs,” said McRae.
Returning to the main stage with a rendition of “run for the hills,” McRae introduced surprise special guest Megan Moroney, who was met with thunderous cheering from the audience before performing an acoustic duet of Moroney's latest single, “6 months later.”
“I was shocked when Megan Moroney came out. The crowd went wild and absolutely loved the performance. It was so special,” said audience member Savannah Webster.

One more costume change later, McRae picked back up with passionate choreography for several songs including “exes,” “she’s all I wanna be” and “Revolving door” before exiting the stage again after “It’s ok I’m ok.”
However, McRae returned for an encore with some of her most popular songs, “Just Keep Watching” and “Sports Car” before closing the concert with “greedy.”
As confetti cannons went off, she waved goodbye to fans then exited while “I know love” played in the background.
“I thought the concert was amazing, her bringing out Megan Moroney was a massive surprise and definitely a highlight. Tate and her dancers are also insane performers,” said audience member Suzanna Porter.
The tour is currently scheduled to continue through the end of November.
