Belmont announces new Chief of Campus Security

Belmont University announced on Friday an official replacement for the chief of Campus Security.

Pat Cunningham will be sworn in as chief of Campus Security on March 15.

Cunningham, a Nashville native and graduate of Belmont, will be replacing former Chief of Campus Security Terry White, who retired in December after 22 years at Belmont.

He has 35 years of campus police work and security experience at Georgetown University, Vanderbilt University, and Colorado College Department of Campus Security. Cunningham is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, and also served as operations captain, administrative captain and commander for emergency preparedness.

Cunningham is currently serving as director of campus safety at Colorado College where he leads “the department in a renewed focus on providing outstanding customer service, engaging the campus community, strengthening partnerships, and investing in technology to make the campus safer,” said Vice President for Administrative and University Counsel Jason Rogers.
